Apple is working on a fix for unreliable iPhone battery indicator
As such, the phones generally display a higher count of battery level than it actually has resulting in users falling short of battery at the most unfortunate of times.
According to the United States technology firm, the freaky battery life issue comes up when you switch time zones, either manually or automatically.
Apple has finally acknowledged that the battery percentage shown on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus may not always be accurately displayed by iOS 9.
From there, they should go to Date & Time Settings under “General”, and put the clock into automatic update by turning the “Set Automatically” function on.
Other users have reported their battery meter gets stuck. This has understandably caused confusion, as the battery percentage indicator should have nothing to do with the current time.
For example, you know you just charged you phone, but after watching a five-minute video on YouYube, your battery is suddenly at 50%. “If this happens again and you didn’t change the time or time zone on your device, contact Apple Support”, the support document states.
The recently unearthed glitch is not the first time-based problem to befall the iPhone.
The company’s spokesperson said that Apple has been informed about the problem, and its team is probing the cause and very soon will come up, with a solution. The issue is also affecting users who’re travelling from one time zone to another. However, the company may release a small update, iOS 9.2.1, ahead of the bigger update to fix the issue.
