Apple launches tool to check eligibility of users’ iPhone for free replacement
About two weeks after launching the iPhone 6s battery fix program, Apple has released a tool that allows users to check if their iPhone 6s is affected by the program.
Apple has not yet responded to the letter.
In the latest query to Apple, the CCA also demanded the USA company “give explanations to consumers in a timely manner, facilitate consumers’ consultation and appointment, prepare enough components to replace batteries efficiently, and meet consumers’ basic needs for normal wireless communication”. Apple says it’s related to “a battery component that was exposed to controlled ambient air longer than it should have been”.
Apple has already ruled out safety concerns over the iPhone 6S shutdown problem. If your serial number is part of the replacement program, you will be able to take your iPhone into the store and get its battery replaced for free. In a post on its site, the Cupertino company claimed that the problem affected only a “small subset” of its phones and has offered free battery replacements to iPhone users affected by the problem.
For Apple to reach those numbers, each of the iPhone 8 variants needs to target a specific type of market.
It is no secret that the web has been awash with rumors about the iPhone 8’s quality and Apple’s plans for a renewed launch of the iPhone 7.
However, the watchdog group accused Apple of not admitting to the problems. Do keep in mind to check the country code as well while searching for the serial number as it will tell you what needs to be done to replace the phone battery.
After taking note of your serial number, go the AppleiPhone 6s Program for Unexpected Shutdown Issues web page, enter your serial number, and then press submit. Alternatively, if you plug your iPhone 6s into a computer running iTunes, you should be able to see the serial number from the summary screen that comes up.
To clear the confusion among the iPhone 6S owners, Apple has spring up with an online tool on its support page.
Apple is replacing batteries in affected 6S devices free of charge, but it isn’t talking about an apparent 10.1 bug.
