Apple Offers Temporary Solution for iPhone 6s Battery Percentage Bug
The company has said that it is aware of the issue and that it is working on the problem.
Apple’s support forums began to log complaints as far back as September, just after the new phones were introduced and the issue seems to bug both the 6S and the 6S Plus models. A new support document says that the percentage of the battery does not update when the owners change the time on the phone manually or if they are traveling in different time zones.
Apple has said that it is looking into a permanent fix of the battery meter issues reported by the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus users.
Apple admitted to a malfunction in their iPhone 6S and 6S Plus devices, promising that they are now investigating the issue. In fact, Apple has even offered to replace a specific lot of faulty iPhone 5s units with reduced battery life.
One possible bug that may well be fixed in this release is the battery indicator bug on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus that we wrote about yesterday. So Luca will probably report those bugs to Apple for making the latest iOS release more secure. You can grab it now through the Update tab of the Mac App Store, or you can manually download and install the Combo Update version from Apple’s support site. The iPhone 6s Plus received the highest score with 132,620 points, while its closest competitor, the Huawei Mate 8, received only 92,746 points. The maintenance update has come out on the heels of the public release of the final version for iOS 9.2.1, which came out this Tuesday.
Apple users have more to look forward to with iOS 9.3, which will be bringing some new features including a night mode, a display color adjustment that eliminates blue light for a better nighttime usage experience.
It’s likely that a software update could fix the issue with Apple already having pushed out iOS 9.3 to developers.
