Apple releases iOS 10.1 beta, adds Portrait Mode to iPhone 7 Plus
Keep in mind, this is only the first beta, so more features, fixes and improvements are likely to be added as newer versions of the 10.1 update become available. Registered iOS developers can download the new betas from Apple’s Developer site. As such, it isn’t available for the iPhone 7. If you have a new iPhone 7, you can customize your feedback via Settings General Home Button. This means if you have an iPhone 7 Plus at hand, you can not use the depth-of-field features of your handset just yet, as the update is available for developers only.
Forbes has declared that the Chinese group must not have any difficulty in accessing Apple’s mobile OS and problems must be out of the picture since “Apple barely touched on the security features of the latest OS meaning the Chinese hacker group should find it fairly easier to come up with an iOS 10 jailbreak”. And the results? Here’s one example from Apple’s very own website. The feature is exclusive to the iPhone 7 Plus’ dual-camera system which allows it to use advanced bokeh effects to focus on a subject found within a photo. Still, it includes the new camera mode, which is created to mimic the kind of shallow depth of field you see in images taken with a high-end DSLR.
Apple has now fixed both of these problems, but it seems the company’s iOS 10 tribulations are not over yet.
Additionally, Apple also seeded the first Beta release of the upcoming Xcode 8.1 IDE (Integrated Development Environment), which has been tagged as 8T29o. While at the same time, Apple would prefer things to be as pristine as possible, which might result in a load of betas being released before final rollout.
