Apple reportedly planning to launch revamped 4-inch iPhone in early 2016
His insights didn’t stop there as he also revealed more predictions for the Apple’s 2016 devices and said that the company will allegedly have an iPhone 7 Plus.
According to tech blog M.I.C Gadget, which provided iPhone-related rumors from China in the past, sources from Foxconn’s suppliers say Apple plans to launch an iPhone 7c next year. The rumored phone would also include a metal case instead of the plastic case of the 5c, support for near-field communication and Apple Pay, and a camera similar to the one in the iPhone 5s.
It might also come with NFC for Apple Pay, and the same 8-megapixel camera as the iPhone 5s, putting it in-line with Apple’s iPhone 6.
The phone will apparently feature curved-edge glass like the iPhone 6S and will be available in several colour options.
The next iPhone successors are likely to make their debut by September 2016, the usual month that Apple unveils its new mobile devices to the market.
The new phone will be way cheaper than the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
The “7 Plus” version of Apple’s next iPhone could pack as much as 3 gigabytes of RAM, according to a note released by Kuo in November, according to AppleInsider. Kuo estimates a price in the USA between $400 and $500, making it anywhere from $150 to $250 cheaper than the 16GB iPhone 6s.
It’s a far-fetched idea lets be clear, and as with all of the rumours surrounding Apple’s next iPhone it should be taken with a dumper truck of salt.
Kuo reckons it’s all to do with keeping its share price high and ensuring steady iPhone sales throughout the year.
For starters, there is still a demand for 4-inch smartphones, he said. He suggests that those who are considering purchasing an iPhone 6c may end up choosing the mid-tier model because there would be a “significant benefit” to have the larger screen for $100 more. He says that the company is working on a new model of the iPhone, this time with a 4 inch screen. KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo, a top Apple analyst, wrote on Thursday that a smaller iPhone model may come with some of the same components as the 6S models, including the A9 processor.
