Apple’s iPhone 7 to have nearly nothing new at all
Over the past few months, it has been speculated by many that iPhone 7 will lose the headphone jack in favor of lightning cables. According to a report published today by the Wall Street Journal, the new iPhone 7 will be nearly identical in terms of design to its predecessor, the iPhone 6s. Looking ahead to 2017, it will be the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, presenting Apple with an opportunity to shake things up with a bold refresh, if it wants to go in that direction by then.
Will the next iPhones look substantially different from 2015’s iPhone 6s and 6s Plus? Expect to see big changes in the variant lined up for 2017, suggests a new report. This report claims that the only major change coming to the smartphone is the removal of the port for the 3.5mm headphone jack. In years between, it usually release a so-called “S” model with subtle improvements, claims a Wall Street Journal report.
Instead, sources tell the Journal that this year’s phone will maintain the same 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays that were first introduced in 2014.
From everything that’s been reported so far, the iPhone 7 is looking like the same story. The report also says, as has been previously rumored, that the 2017 iPhone will feature an OLED display. WSJ reports that this will make the next release much thinner and more resistant to water. However, since the rumors began, not a lot of people were thrilled because that would only mean that they will need to buy a new set of headphones that will work via a Lightning port or wireless connection. Rock Fix has shown other parts of the upcoming iPhone 7, such as SanDisk memory chips with a maximum capacity of 256GB, as well as a dual-lens camera, but on the phablet version. It is now being anticipated that the iPhone 7 would be releasing into the markets with a Dual SIM support, as a dual-SIM tray has been spotted in the leaked images. With this news, future iPhone 7 users won’t have to worry about bringing along extra headphones that they can use with their other devices. Let us know in the comments section below.
