Apple’s Macbook Air Likely to Get a Facelift with More Features
“It’s also unlikely that Apple would do a surprise release for its notebook as the company follows a timeline of release dates and unveiling for its flagship devices”.
There is a statement from a renowned Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo that there is a high possibility that the company will not release the 2016 MacBook Air models since its 12-inch model of MacBook is now at the top seller PC product.
“Earlier reports claim that the 2016 MacBook Air will be launched in time for the holiday season while the 2016 MacBook Pro will become available early next year”.
By delaying the laptop by a few months, Apple will be able to shed the spotlight more on the new MacBook Air and the iPad Pro. The slimmer MacBook is expected to be released with entirely new internal components, for which the multinational is working with suppliers to develop the components. However, the report gives no further details apart from the fact that the upcoming MacBook range will be slimmer, lighter with redesigned components. Despite being broadly plausible, there’s no indication yet from Apple that the Air line has much of a future in the wake of the newly relaunched MacBook. The Air has been a big part of Apple’s Macbook line up since 2008, with a design focus on being as thin as possible.
As for the display, it has a diagonal of 12.9-inch and supports a resolution of 2732x2048pixels at 264ppi, while the iPad Air 2 has a smaller 9.7-inch display with the same pixel density resulted from the lower resolution of 2048x1536pixels.
Apparently the new Macbook Air will be slimmer than before and feature larger displays. An 11-inch model is also rumored, but its inclusion is still unclear as of now.
The rumor of a 15-inch MacBook Air indicates that Apple is not resting on its oars where MacBook Air is concerned. However, we will be treating this report with a grain of salt and wait for more updates to come through. The device is also said to be an amalgamation of the best features of the MacBook Pro and the MacBook. Screen sizes for the iPad and Macbook are almost the same now, so Apple might be wanting to try some new things to clearly differentiate its laptops and tablets. It would be a disaster for the company if they launch the MacBook Air 2016 while consumers are rushing to get discounts on various devices. It could even set some new trends for other developers, something which doesn’t happen rarely when it comes to Apple.
