Apple’s New TV App Makes Finding Something to Watch Easier
These new emoji will include new faces, animals, foods, sports, and professions, as well as the coveted shrug emoji. Apple describes the new app as a “unified experience for accessing your TV shows and movies across multiple video apps”.
This update is available for the fourth-generation Apple TV.
There’s also a timely inclusion of clinking glasses of champagne and a sick face, just in time for New Year’s. Once you do, head over to Settings, tap on General and then tap on Software Update.
Among the headline new additions are a majorly expanded list of new emoji, the new Apple TV app, new wallpapers, and extra effects for the Messages service.
For people who prefer communicating with pictures, iOS 10.2 adds over 100 new emojis, including bacon, clowns, and whiskey.
The debut of the TV app from Apple follows the recent launch of a single sign-on feature for authenticated TVE services, though it initially supports a small smattering of apps from MVPDs and individual programmers.
Once iOS 10.2 is shown as an available update, tap “Download and Install” and follow the on-screen instructions.
Regardless, Apple has advised its users to at least upgrade to iOS 10 for all their devices for security reasons.
iOS 10.2 improves stabilisation and offers a faster frame rate for the Live Photos features, while also improving accuracy of groupings in the People album feature.

In total, there are 72 completely new emojis included in the update – first approved back in June.
In terms of bug fixes, a Mail issue involving copy-and-paste and message selection has been addressed. Of course, make sure your phone is either over 50 percent battery life or charging and connected to Wi-Fi.
