Apple seeds first tvOS 9.1 beta to developers
The Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad users are upgrading their devices to iOS 9 at a fairly rapid pace.
Of course, not all iOS 9 features have been met with a universally warm reception.
Apple announced in September that iOS 9 had the fastest adoption rate of any iOS release. It will eventually allow you to place and receive phone calls from devices such as the Gear S2 and LG Watch Urbane 2, even when your phone isn’t around, and that same tech will apply to iOS devices. The onscreen keyboard also was updated with additional shortcuts in the Quick Type predictions bar.
The news app in the iOS 9.1 links users to news sites in the United States. “As a member of the Apple Beta Software Program, you can take part in shaping Apple software by test-driving pre-release versions and letting us know what you think”, the description states. And since downgrading to iOS 9.0 is not an option any more, the only thing to do is to wait for Apple to release a fix. The same can be said about the iOS 9 and iOS 9.1.
Apple issued a public announcement following that lawsuit explaining the issue.
However, the release of iOS 9.1 on October 21, which brings a number of emojis, has also resulted in higher adoption rate of iOS 9. iDevice users can use regular emojis as well as a few new ones.
The iOS 9.2 version for now is only available for beta testers. Safari View Controller lets third-party apps use a Safari-style browser and Safari’s features rather than build their own web viewer. But there were other, stronger incentives to upgrade: a bevy of new emoji including animals, food items such as tacos, and the infamous middle finger graphic, and a tweak to Live Photos that stops recordings when the iPhone is pointed at the ground.
App Thinning also will only download image and music files when needed, for example images and sound files for games will not be downloaded until you need them or until you reached the level where it is needed.
