Apple teases 70 new characters
Separately, Apple has released 70 new emojis in celebration of World Emoji Day, and also updated the bio photos of its leadership team with Memoji.
The feature lets you create an animated avatar emoji that follows your face’s movements, and use it in a bunch of Apple apps, majority related to Message and FaceTime.
What will the new emoji include?
Other emoji additions include male and female superhero emoji, a softball, an infinity symbol, and a nazar amulet.
Apple is recognizing the day by unveiling 70 new emojis, including a cold face, party face, pleading face, and a face of hearts.
It’s nearly that time of year again: new emojis are on the horizon for iPhone users.
From being used only for creative expression by the millennials, to being Oxford dictionary’s “Word of the year 2015”, emojis are now also being embraced by brands across the globe. The first set of emoji was comprised of just 176 pictograms, each with a resolution of 12 x 12 pixels, and was aimed to differentiate i-mode’s messaging features from other such services.
The ideograms achieved cultural ubiquity after being introduced to mobile operating systems in the 2010s.
