Apple to unveil new smartphone amid rumours of iPhone X — Live
Maybe it’s time to ditch the Retina trademark and at the very least match up with everyone else.
Apple Inc. unveiled its most important new iPhone for years to take on growing competition from Samsung Electronics Co., Google and a host of Chinese smartphone makers. The South Korean firm, however, isn’t releasing any figures to back its claims but said they have received more orders for the Note 8 than any Note device ever garnered any time before. It’s an impressive device. Still, there are still things it doesn’t have.
Apple usually began selling new products two to three weeks after their launches.
Repeated incidents of battery explosions in the Galaxy Note 7 had cost the company hundreds of crores in sales and dented its image in the country last year. But now that Samsung’s been there, done that, the big question is, What’s next?
The iPhone X has a resolution of 2436 x 1125.
Major highlights of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 are- bigger infinity display, enhanced S-Pen, and dual camera. According to a report by the Associated Press, the phone would feature a bendable display and will be released under the company’s flagship Galaxy Note line. Samsung Display is a major screen supplier to Apple. Plus the stainless-steel frame around the glass adds a nice, premium sheen to the phone.
Samsung’s Note series could be part of the foldable device plan as the Galaxy Note comes with a massive 6-inch display. The Note model brand’s reputation took a hit from its previous model.
Yet, here we are in 2017, with only the remnants of exploding handsets and the promise of something better. We’ll see how it does in the real world.
Meanwhile, Apple’s latest smartphone, the iPhone X (pronounced “ten” rather than “ex”), has an edge-to-edge screen, can be unlocked by scanning users’ faces and has no home button.
People have been talking about the Samsung Galaxy X for a good long while now. But with all eyes turned toward Cupertino on Tuesday morning, Samsung tried to steal a little bit of the iPhone X’s thunder.
