Apple Update: iOS 8.4.1
The build number for today’s release is 12H321 and can be downloaded via iTunes on your computer, or via an over-the-air update on your iOS device.
This means that iOS 8.4.1 is unjailbreakable and anyone wanting to jailbreak their iOS devices should stay away from this new update and stick with iOS 8.4.0.
Other fixes include mixed up artwork across multiple devices and handling how tracks can be organized into playlists, even if there are no existing playlists to choose from.
Meanwhile, Apple also used the update to patch a few different security glitches, including a problem whereby malicious websites could crash the Safari browser.
What are some of the fixes in iOS 8.4.1?
The last major update to iOS, version 8.4, launched on June 30, bringing with it a redesigned Music app with support for Apple Music and Beats 1 radio. This update is chock full of “improvements and fixes to Apple Music”. Now when you click on the Beats 1 banner on iTunes, you can see what is currently on or view the complete broadcast schedule. iTunes now shows you a list of the artists that you are following on Apple Music.
Resolved an issue where iTunes loses its place when you go back to a previous page in Apple Music. Apple fixed a problem where artists were being incorrectly sorted in “My Music”.
There were also apparent warnings when using the iOS 8.3 jailbreak tools in order to keep the update work, as well as to protect the device from breaking down.
As far as the Mac OS X update goes, iTunes has been updated to v12.2.2 which improves an artists’ ability to share from the desktop.
With iTunes 12.2.2, you also get programming information for all of the shows on Beats 1.
OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 is recommended by Apple for all users of Yosemite.
You can grab the update now from the Mac App Store.
