Apple Watch sales to hit six million over the Christmas period
Over the last six months, the analyst estimates that Apple shipped just 6 million units.
However, Black Friday’s numbers do beg us to reconsider Apple’s original forecast. According to Strategy Analytics, Apple Watch sales grew by 25% to 4.5 million units in the immediate quarter, to capture three-fourths of the smartwatch market.
Ives blamed the slow sales so far on “supply constraints” and a “choppy launch period”, but said that sales of the device started to gain traction on Black Friday, when retailers such as Best Buy in the United States slashed the price of the Apple Watch by $100. Meanwhile, Cupertino still won’t reveal specific sales figures for the Apple Watch, citing competitive reasons. Previously, Ives surmised that Cupertino had sold 6 million Apple Watch devices to date, and the analyst is now predicting additional deliveries of another 6 million units to customers in December 2015. Now that the demand for the smartwatch is increasing, its true popularity will be known only after the holiday season. Lucky for you, we’ve got a great prize to giveaway to celebrate the arrival of Black Friday and Cyber Monday – nothing less than a brand new Apple Watch Sport!
Maybe the Apple Watch won’t be a holiday humbug, after all.
Heading into the holiday shopping season, there was a question about how the Apple Watch would fare during this time of the year.
So why such a surge towards the end of the year? The coolest thing about this device is that it would have a good fitness tracker and also a connector that would enable iOS users to enjoy the marvelous features on this device.
“Apple Watch is still a rounding error on overall Apple sales”, Mr. Ives stated in his latest note.
