Apple Watch To Come With Transformer Like Band
Apple calls it the Magnetic Wristband; it’s a replacement watch strap that’s jam-packed with magnets, a bit like the Milanese loop and leather loop bands that are available right now.
Just to note, just because Apple files a patent, that doesn’t mean the described watch band will ever be produced.
Even after the first-generation watch was introduced last April, Apple has continued to introduce a number of new accessories for the watch – including different band colors and a magnetic charging dock. The band is expected to have two wrapping configurations, and will hence have two separate straps; each strap will utilize malleable material with embedded magnets, that carry opposite polarities. When brought in close proximity, the magnets attract in a vertical stack configuration. To keep a track of time with the watch off the hand, users can simply roll the band with the display on top, make it like an “on-the-fly” stand and keep it by their side.

The idea that you could take your Apple Watch off and use it as an extra screen, perhaps paired with another Apple device, is definitely something I could get on board with.
In one setup, Apple proposes using the band to wrap itself around the device to protect it against damage while not being worn. It may look similar but the magnetically closed band can do a lot more while the Apple Watch is on your wrist.
According to reports, Apple Watch 2 may be launched by April this year.
