Apple working on new MacBook Airs to debut at WWDC
Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) happens every year and is traditionally the platform the company uses to introduce new software and hardware.
The source claims the new MacBook Air will have “fully redesigned” internal components which Apple is now working on with suppliers. Perhaps most interestingly in the Economic Daily News story is that Apple is considering a “13 inch and 15 inch MacBook Air” bringing the Air into the 15 inch screen size form factor for the first time. At that time, sources maintained the 12-inch notebook would receive MacBook Air badging. Force Touch could also be found on the device possibly running on an Intel Skylake processor.
Apple’s new MacBook Air range will come with a number of design changes over the current range, the major change is that they will be thinner than the current versions.
Apple now sells a 11-, 12-, 13- and 15-inch laptop (not including the 12.9-inch iPad Pro). Let us know in the comments … what do you want to see in a new MacBook Air?
Among the features that the MacBook Air is reportedly sporting, according to Macworld UK, include a Retina display as well as a Touch ID feature which can be found within its Trackpad. Apple seeks to stay true to the aesthetics of the MacBook Air series and release a model that offers better functionality while being lighter and thinner at the same time. EDN doesn’t even say whether the revamped MacBook Airs will have high-resolution displays that will finally go into Retina territory, as is the case with Apple’s MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops. Instead, the device became the 12-inch Retina Display MacBook, and was not part of the Air or Pro family.
