Archie Panjabi Slams Julianna Margulies’ Dismissal Of a Feud
Fans of the show have been speculating that a feud was brewing between co-stars Juliana Margulies and Archie Panjabi, because the two hadn’t shared a scene in two years. According to Entertainment Weekly, the two actresses’ final scene was shot separately. Their characters did have a falling out on the show, after Alicia learned that Kalinda had slept with her husband years earlier but speculation escalated after last season’s finale, in which the two filmed their final scene “together” separately.
We don’t think we’ll ever hear what actually happened here – but it’s definitely not as clean as Margulies wants us all to believe, right?
“It’s totally gossip”, Margulies told Vulture. There’s no story there, sorry … “I heard that question had been asked to Robert King“. There’s no animosity on my part.
And Archie Panjabi didn’t exactly quell the rumors about their feud when she was asked about the CGI scene on “The Good Wife“. “You also have to remember, there’s difficulty …”
“I went along with whatever Robert asked me to do and I did it happily”, Margulies said. The characters eventually made up, though, fueling tons of Good Wife conspiracy theories about why Margulies and Panjabi never appeared together.
But is it a feud if both parties can’t agree? That may not mean much to the casual show watcher, but fans of the series know that by the time Panjabi left the show at the end of Season 6, the pair had gone more than 50 episodes without sharing a scene.
Speculation continued after creators and showrunners Robert King and Michelle King announced that Kalinda would be leaving the series after season six.
Meanwhile, after exiting the show, Panjabi kept the nature of her departure vague, but she hinted that things weren’t totally peachy on set. And just today, Indiewire’s Sam Adams hilariously compared Margulies’ denial of the feud – and her feminist response – to gaslighting, pointing out that is “ironically, a practice usually used by men to convince women that they are insane when they are, in fact, correct”.
“All I can say is this: the decision-making process is not something I’m privy to”, the actress said.
“It’s insanity – he’s a insane person”, she said after reading a New York Times profile about the real estate mogul turned politician.
Margulies also felt that more attention was given to the rumored feud because it was between two women.
