Arian Foster proud he does not believe in God
In an interview with ESPN the Magazine released Thursday, Mr. Foster said he is fairly open about his atheism in his circles and gets some odd reactions.
According to ESPN, Foster suffered the injury in a pass play last Monday during Houston’s first fully padded practice in training camp.
They have major questions at quarterback and while the defense is solid, they’ll need to lean on Foster and the running game to help take pressure on whichever player winds up starting under center.
Arian Foster is scheduled to undergo surgery on Friday to fix a groin injury, and it is unclear how long the four-time Pro Bowler will be out. For people who are struggling with that, they’re nervous about telling their families or afraid of the backlash… man, don’t be afraid to be you. To promote acceptance of atheism worldwide, he recently joined the group Openly Secular as a spokesperson.
“You don’t want to ruin endorsements”, he said. “I was, for years”.
The 28-year-old was raised Muslim, but that only lasted until his junior year in high school when he finally told his dad about his beliefs. “That’s the choice I made”.
“I’ve recognized how vulnerable he is”, the owner said.
McNair told the Houston Chronicle: “Can’t say I’m surprised”.
Just because Foster does not believe in God does not make him a devil-worshiper, however, so don’t even suggest that. I don’t mean a negative connotation of ignorance.
He added he doesn’t think people’s ignorance comes from a bad place, but from a lack of understanding. “We have no idea how much time he’s going to miss”, Texans head coach Bill O’Brien said about Foster. Was he complaining that Foster always seems hurt? I have no quarrels.
“I have no ill will toward religion or religious people”. The way Houston Texans owner Bob McNair makes it seem, the team should be more than prepared to be without its best offensive player. “Believe what you want to believe”.
