Arian Foster suffers groin injury
Texans running back Arian Foster could need surgery for a groin injury he suffered during the team’s first fully padded training camp practice, a source said.
Foster is ranked as the sixth-best available running back for fantasy football, according to ESPN’s Matthew Berry.
But missed time seems like a near certainty for him, and the days of him racking up 300 carries in a season could be over for him.
He missed two games last November after suffering a groin injury against the Philadelphia Eagles. At first, it appeared that Foster may have just tweaked something, but as time passed the injury began to look more and more significant and serious. He still finished with 1,246 yards rushing and eight touchdowns last season. “So you can rest assured that as long as he’s healthy and he’s out there, we will run the ball”.
The Houston Texans will use the same formula in 2015 that guided them to increased offensive success last season: use elite running back Arian Foster and star wideout DeAndre Hopkins to carry an offense that will be led by a game manager-type quarterback.
It sounds like the Texans might have to consider putting Foster on IR due to his injury. If that were the case, Foster wouldn’t be able to practice for six weeks into the season.
