Ariana Grande, AMAs 2015: ‘Focus’ Performance at American Music Awards
Ariana Grande got cozy with her award for “Favorite Female Artist” at Sunday’s American Music Awards 2015.
Half way through the song, she went over to a lucky audience member, who pulled one of her gloves off with his teeth before she disappeared behind a red curtain to change into something more skimpy.
Addressing the crowds, the pint-sized singer gave her best Nonna Grande impression and explained how her grandmother had basically ensured her win. “She goes, ‘Ariana, I went on the computer”.
“How do you feel, nonna?” asked Grande of her grandmother’s newfound fame and apparent headline status.
She added: “I really have no idea what to say, I didn’t think about this part”.
Roach revealed to Pret-a-Reporter that he was introduced to Grande through her publicist, whom she shares with Zendaya, and that he first met her last week during a rehearsal for her AMA performance. “I love you guys so, so much”.
Grande admitted crying on the stage while giving away a thank you speech for her fans. After kissing her 90-year-old grandma, whom she calls Nonna, Ariana made her way on stage.
