Ariana Grande Posts a Video Apology About the Donut Shop Incident
“I’m just here to apologize”.
In a four-minute video entiled “sorry babes”, a puffy-faced, post-oral surgery Grande opens up about her diva behavior, saying that she too watched the TMZ video and was not pleased with her actions.
Actress and pop singer Ariana Grande, known for the Nickelodeon shows “Victorious” and “Sam & Cat” and for hit singles including “The Way”, “Bang Bang” and “Break Free”, continues to take flak after video surfaced this week of her licking doughnuts in a doughnut shop and saying, ‘I hate America.’.
“I’ve actually never been prouder to be an American”, the singer reiterated in her YouTube video, citing the “advances we’ve made in the past couple of months”. I’m human. I still have a lot to learn. But Grande wanted to make it clear just how much she loves this great nation. Grande has apologized for licking doughnuts and speaking harsh words about America for a second time in a new video.
“I’m sorry because I reacted in a way that I feel like wasn’t necessary, to say the least, but also wasn’t me at all”, she said. “I feel like I could have expressed myself in a different way”. I was so disgusted with myself, I like shoved my face in a pillow and wanted to disappear.
She clarified that she’s “never been prouder to be an American” because of recent progressive victories like marriage equality, but said that this whole experience has been a big wake-up call for her. “Seeing how ugly it looks when you behave a certain way makes you wanna never behave that way again”, she said. But instead of that I’m gonna come forward and own up to what I did and take responsibility and say I’m sorry … I was trying to get you to understand where I was coming from when I said what I said. I’m going to learn from my mistakes. “That’s how we grow. we just have to get better and actually act on it, and use the mistakes as a platform to learn and to grow and become better”.
