Ariel Winter: I’m not ashamed of breast surgery scars

Winter, who plays bookworm Alex Dunphy on Modern Family, shone with a sense of personal confidence, happiness, and pride with her decision to have had breast reduction surgery, according to the Los Angeles Times. However, a less impressed fan added, “Big fan of Ariel Winter and fully support her decision to have a breast reduction but we really do not need to see those scars!”

Winter went under the knife in April 2015 to reduce her 32F bust size.

Winter, furious with the horrific and ridiculous comments, says that it “sickens” her to think that her photo wearing a bikini with her nieces suggested that she was “asking for it”.

“It’s hard when you’re a teenage girl and you already have a lot of ridicule and then you pile on more, and it’s kind of…it just gets too much”, she said.

Last year, in an interview with Glamour, Winter said having size F breasts at 15 made life hard to navigate.

When so many of us might cover up our insecurities in order to be red-carpet-ready, it’s nice to know at least one star is comfortable in her own skin – scars and all. Ariel told People that her birthday bash was a Moroccan-themed event that included belly dancers, an “awesome” cake, and around 300 guests. She also spoke about women being overly sexualized within the industry and outside. “I want to be able to make a difference”.
