Arizona cop under investigation for ‘illegally’ entering woman’s home and
An Arizona mother has captured the horrifying moment a cop “illegally” entered her home and arrested her while she was naked. “And honestly, I felt molested”, Rossi says of the incident.
The Chandler Police Department is investigating the former police officer, Doug Rose, whom Esmeralda Rossi said had entered her home and cuffed her without explanation.
Rossi told ABC 15 she was in the shower when her daughter told her the officers were at the door.
The Dispatch Times newspaper writes that Rossi’s daughter came into the bathroom and told her two cops were at the house, so the woman grabbed a towel and confronted them. “So I just grabbed a towel”, she told the station.
“It made me very uncomfortable”.
“So I closed the door”, Rossi told KNXV.
“I turn to go into my living room, and I probably get about five steps in and all of a sudden, I just hear boots running in after me, telling me, ‘Stop or I’ll arrest you!'” she told the TV station.
It’s at that point that the cell phone video shot by Rossi’s daughter begins, showing Rossi pleading with Rose not to touch her as her towel falls to the ground and she’s left naked.
An Arizona woman is planning to sue the city of Chandler after police illegally entered her home and arrested her while she was naked.
Despite that, Rose was allowed to retire during the investigation with no charges brought against him.
But the woman filed a complaint with internal affairs, which determined he did a number of things wrong, including forcing himself into her home. Rossi added that her daughter was made to remove her handcuffs.
The camera was worn by Officer David Selvidge, who was cleared by Chandler Police of any wrongdoing.
When she answered the door, there were two Chandler Police officers.
While admitted taking an attitude with the cop, Rossi’s attorney says anyone would be agitated in her situation.
Police arrived at Rossi’s home after receiving a call about an argument between her and her estranged husband.
Marc Victor, Rossi’s lawyer, said: “This was not the proper treatment of a citizen”.
“This was disgusting. This was barbaric.”
Rose is later heard in the video lecturing an audibly distraught Rossi, telling her “When a cop shows up… you’re not the one in charge”. She had a right to be upset.’.
David Selvidge, the other officer, contacted his supervisor to alert them of Mr Rose’s behavior.
There was also no video from his body camera for the call, records show.
