Armed Robbery – Louth UPDATED
Two men disguised in panda onesies robbed a newsagents armed with what detectives believe was a handgun.
A female member of staff was threatened with the handgun around 7.30pm on Sunday.
They want anyone who was around the area on Sunday evening who may have see anything to get in touch with Lincolnshire Police as soon as possible.
One officer told the BBC, “Even though it was very cold last night, I’m sure there were still people in the town centre who might have seen two males running…in panda onesies”.
They said the men were dressed in “panda-style onesies” which may have been thrown away after the robbery.
The pair fled on foot, and residents living close to the shop in Eastgate, Louth are being asked to check their bins for any discarded clothing in case the men dumped the freaky costumes nearby.
“We are keen to trace these items of clothing”, Sally Hewitt of Louth Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team said.
