Army attacks Boko Haram in Sambisa forest
At least 30 people were killed and 80 injured in a triple suicide bombing attack on a market day.
The area has been attacked repeatedly by the Boko Haram militant group, and the region is under a state of emergency. Regional nations, increasingly alarmed by the Sunni Islamist Takfiri terrorist group called Boko Haram, stepped in to help Nigeria because of the growing crisis in northeastern Nigeria.
Chad has played a key role helping Nigeria recapture areas seized by the group in northern Nigeria and this year thousands of people fleeing Boko Haram sought safety on the island.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, over 50,000 internally displaced people have arrived in the region since late July.
The bombings in Chad come as Nigeria’s intelligence agency says it has arrested nine alleged Boko Haram extremists plotting attacks on Abuja, the capital, over the holiday season. Cameroon said it conducted a major operation along its long western border with Nigeria, killing 100 militants and freeing 900 people.
USA Today reported the attack took place at a market on Koulfoua.
Less than a month ago, Russian Federation revealed that female suicide bombers had planned to smuggle explosives in hand cream in a Sochi Olympics plot.
“During the encounter with the terrorists at Yerimari Gana a number of Boko Haram terrorists were killed and some suspected terrorists were arrested who are being interrogated”. Yesterday’s Lake Chad attacks have been speculated to be in retaliation for the coalition’s successful blow against the terror group. The U.S. Embassy warned today about possible attacks to hotels frequently visited by westerners. They have recently used waves of terrorist attacks, often using woman and children to carry out the attacks.
