Detectives who were appealing to the public for help following the discovery of a woman’s body in Perryn Road in Acton this morning, July 27, say they have made an arrest.
A manhunt has been launched for a schizophrenic man after a woman in her 30s was allegedly murdered while working at a hostel for vulnerable adults in London.
Michael Meanza, 47, was arrested by officers in Ealing, West London, this afternoon after Scotland Yard issued an appeal to find him.
Meanza has been missing from a supported living centre for vulnerable people.
After their arrival paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
The woman’s next of kin have been informed of her death but police are awaiting formal identification and a post mortem.
A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
He is said to have left the building at 6.30am this morning and has not been seen since.
Mr Meanza was previously known as Michael Condon and has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, for which he takes medication that police do not believe he has with him.
Police are advising the public not to approach him and call 999 if he is seen, as he could be unsafe.
Meanza is described as white and of large build. He was wearing light grey or beige pants, a dark blue hooded top, white trainers and a black or blue cap when he was last seen. I would like to reassure them that they will be treated with the utmost sensitivity.’.
