Arrested In Winona Shooting Death, More Expected
Police said a 23-year-old man wanted on a warrant for second-degree murder and other counts was arrested Thursday night in Wausau after a brief foot chase. 18-year-old Kayla Mae Clay is being held in the Trempealeau County jail on preliminary charges of aiding and offender-accomplice after the fact.
He is now in custody pending an Extradition Hearing in Wausau.
Two people have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Winona.
The vehicle suspected to have been used in the crime was also recovered. Police are still seeking two black men, police said Friday.

According to police, officers arrived to the apartment on Gilmore Avenue Sunday to find Adam Tylor Fort, 31, of Winona, had been shot once in the torso. Medical personnel provided care at the scene, but Fort was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. An investigation continues – and Winona Police now say they expect to make more arrests.
Fort graduated from Winona Senior High School in 2002 and studied computer science at Southeast Technical College, according to his obituary. He worked as a machine operator, taught piano and played in several bands over the years.
