Arrested IS agent wanted to create women squad of fighters in Rajasthan
A senior official of state-run Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) on Thursday was arrested for alleged links with terror organisation ISIS, police said. He is now being questioned in Rajasthan the state where he was arrested and the Anti Terrorist Squad feels that more arrests are likely in other parts of the country. Sirajuddin had been living in Jaipur since April 2014 and working with the International Olympic Committee as Marketing Manager (Sales).
The ATS mentioned that Mohammed Sirajuddin was using WhatsApp groups and internet forums to encourage Muslim youth to join IS.
Additional DGP (ATS and SOG) Alok Tripathi said Sirajuddin is a native of Gulbarga in Karnataka.
The ATS has also claimed to have found “objectionable materials” were found at his house in Jaipur. Sirazudin was picked up from the Jawahar Nagar area of Jaipur and has been arrested under appropriate sections of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, officials said.
SOG and ATS teams verified the antecedents of the accused after a complaint was filed followed by a checking of his WhatsApp and Facebook accounts.
A number of issues of ISIS’ online magazine “Dabik”, pictures, and videos were also recovered from him, he said, adding that further investigations were on. Tripathi further said, “He was of course working for ISIS as he was into propagating various things about ISIS and was urging people to join the organization”.
It shows that through social media sites he was attempting to lure youth into joining the ISIS.
