Arrests made in home invasion murders – WLTZ 38 | Columbus Georgia
Detectives are still actively looking for the third suspect, Jones.
After conducting searches at four separate locations around 2 a.m., Bradenton police arrested Jimmie Lee McNear and Trey Nonombre, both 18.
Police say Jones bonded out of jail on drug charges two days before the murders.
BRADENTON, FL (WFLA) – Manatee County detectives have arrested two of the three suspects wanted in the double-murder of a Bradenton couple last week.
The attackers shot Brooks near the front door and Ester Deneus inside the home, the department said in a media release.
Brandenton Police told WFLA they found the glass of the front door of the home shattered. Five children, ranging in age from 1 to 11, were also inside the home at the time. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police announced several more details Monday following the two arrests.
Detectives believe Brooks was targeted by the suspects, and unfortunately Deneus was simply just present in the home.
The children are in the custody of child protective services, authorities said. Nonombre was treated at Manatee Memorial Hospital for a bite from the K-9. Investigators found Jones in the 2800 block of 15th Avenue S in St. Petersburg about 1 p.m. Tuesday, according to Bradenton Police Lt. James Racky.
Nonombre and McNear have each been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and one count of attempted home invasion, reports indicate. The three suspects each have extensive arrest records.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Manatee County Crime Stoppers at 1-866-634-TIPS, or the Bradenton Police Department at 941-932-9356 or 941-320-7441.
