Arrow Season 4 Adds Neal McDonough As Series Regular Villain
Via TVLine, we have news that Neal McDonough has been cast in the main villain role of Damien Darhk for Season 4 of The CW’s Arrow. So now he’s claiming credits as both Marvel and DC Comics characters. Towards the end of the season, mention was made of another DC villain, Damien Darhk, who was billed as a foe to R’as Al Ghul. In Arrow, the character is the leader of H.I.V.E. and a former member of the League of Assassins, the one-time friend to Ra’s al Ghul.
Darhk is known in the comics as the well-connected techie villain who was a major player in America’s seedy underworld. After being fatally shot by Vandal Savage, Darhk gained immortality – thanks to Addie’s blood.
McDonough is an excellent actor, and getting someone of his gravitas for this show is excellent for “Arrow” and really for The CW as a whole.
McDonough has comic book experience, playing the Marvel Comics favorite “Dum Dum” Dugan in Captain America: The First Avenger and reprising the role for an episode of ABC’s Agent Carter. Season 2.
“Arrow” stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Arrow, Katie Cassidy as Dinah “Laurel” Lance, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, John Barrowman as Malcom Merlyn and Paul Blackthorne as Detective Lance.
Arrow Season 4 will premiere on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 8PM EST.
