‘Arrow’ Season 4, Episode 7 Spoilers: Diggle Learns Truth About Brother Andy
Back when Arrow first aired, Diggle was introduced as having a dead brother, killed by HIVE.
Diggle visits Andy, who’s now locked in a cell.
That conflict extends beyond the Green Arrow’s costumed crime fighting and into Oliver Queen’s Mayoral bid as well. Too bad he’s under the thrall of Damien Darhk! This is the first time Darhk is meeting Oliver out of costume, so when he promises to lend the candidate his support in the campaign as long as he leaves the bayfront alone, it’s in ignorance to Oliver’s true mission and, honestly, his true self. And though Felicity chews him out for even pretending to ally himself with Damien, it’s really Diggle’s impassioned plea to stop fighting Darhk in the shadows and start fighting him in broad daylight that gets through to Oliver.
Bamford spoke to TVLine and previewed that this episode is focused on Diggle (David Ramsey), specifically his backstory. Diggle privately shows Oliver his folder on Andy. Oliver, and later Laurel, do their best to cue Diggle to see the positives here, but he is headstrong in refusing to give Andy the benefit of the doubt. There’s no long shots or whiffed strikes; you can nearly feel the punches hit home.
Thea is talking to Alex Davis, who’s anxious that Oliver Queen knows they’re dating. However, Oliver and the rest of the team disagree and begin to hatch a plan to rescue him. The genetic marker is purposely degrading and it take Ray all of a minute to identify the chemical compound that was used and the company that holds its patent. With Andy safely back in the Arrow Cave, John does indeed learn to his great disappointment that everything in his brother’s file is true.
What do you think will happen on tonight’s episode of Arrow?
Hope you’re ready Star City. He helps her look at the cyanide capsule. Instead, a much more interesting thing happens.
In the course of fending off a letch at a bar, Thea almost killed the galoot – right in front of Alex. While Damien is distracted, Thea escapes. Though Thea has ignored her biological father for most of the episode, she turns to him when she realizes what Darhk’s magic has done, demanding he help her find a way to use Darhk’s magic to curb her bloodlust for good. We know why (LOT!).
Tonight’s episode on the other hand, will see a more instense rift between Ollie and Co.’s and the Damien Darhk because of a shocking revelation.
Felicity turns to Ray – who’s stalling his return to “life” – for help in examine the ghost’s tooth they have, and he eventually traces it to an old psychiatric hospital, which thus must be a few “base” for H.I.V.E. With Diggle wholly disinterred in retrieving his brother, Oliver, Thea and Laurel proceed to infiltrate the building. What we’ve already learned on “Arrow” this season in one way or another is that just because you are alive does not necessarily mean that you are the same person you once work.
Oliver finally got rid of the solider that was trying to kill him during this week’s island flashbacks. It’s revealed that the man he killed last week was actually the brother of the woman he rescued – that plotline is getting complicated.
The high points of “Brotherhood” were the action scenes and the chance for Diggle to get a little story of his own going on. Unfortunately, most of the supporting cast took a back seat in this hour. He is bad at lying and says, “Felicity called about the thing”.
