Arrow Season 4 Spoilers Is Felicity dead
How are Felicity and Oliver dealing with this new situation now that she’s going to be in a wheelchair?
Good, good, good episode, especially with the comic snark of Anarky. See? Luckily for fans, that doesn’t stop her from being her usual chipper self, despite the fact that Oliver has been too wrapped up with the hunt for Darhk to visit.
Of course, there’s also the trouble of Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) hovering over Star City, waiting for Team Arrow to deal with. We’re going to be bringing it in in what we hope is a surprising and cool way through Andy Diggle (Eugene Byrd).
Are we really throwing shade at Oliver for keeping Anarky prisoner, with Andy Diggle in a cage next door, or with The Flash still spitting on the justice system from an unmonitored super-prison? Despite herself, she’s still in shock about what happened, and her focus is going to be mostly, and interestingly, on Oliver and trying to keep him from falling back into this dark hole he’s been in the past.
So the group ends up capturing Anarky, aka Lonnie Machin, at his foster parents’ house: he booby-trapped it for Darhk, but the vigilantes interrupted the party. Oliver then breaks him out and they track him to Damien Darhk’s home where Machin holds the HIVE leader’s wife and child hostage.
Darhk appears. He and Oliver have a brief fight. Felicity tells him that he can’t sacrifice who he is. The episode wraps up with everyone hunky dory, as usual: Diggle plays cards with his brother as they try to find their relationship again, Thea rekindles her romantic interests, and Oliver and Felicity bond despite her diagnosis being that she will never walk again.
“Green Arrow: “I saved them”. Reiter takes it as a sign and insists Oliver be spared until his usefulness is up. The real interesting scene comes at the close of the episode. And, to be sure, such an approach absolutely fits with what we have come to expect from Oliver, which is to run as far from his feelings as possible and go punch someone really hard. I would much rather devote that time to giving the Big Bad some context than whatever it is Arrow has been doing with its flashbacks this season.
“ROY HARPER RETURNS; NYSSA MAKES HER MOVE – The team faces off against a formidable villain nicknamed The Calculator (guest star Tom Amandes)”.
When he had the chance, Oliver both received from and gave the man a reprieve. But who can it be? For Oliver, his bloodlust is very much fueled by his fear of losing Felicity. While he’s only coming back for a brief appearance, it’ll be nice to see the character back with his old group of friends. Laurel’s father has been a major character all through the series and has had interaction with Barry multiple times. Oliver realizes that Machin is one step ahead of him, so he decides to hunt the villain down and find out what he knows about Darhk’s whereabouts. That said, I feel like this season, more than in previous years even, we’ve allowed ourselves to stray from the model and the way we’ve been breaking episodes in the past and to really explore more what is it like to have an episode where maybe Oliver does take a little bit more of a back seat.
