‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: Matt Ryan appearing as Constantine!
We’ve already seen one Arrow spin-off become successful (The Flash) with another (Legends of Tomorrow) planned for a debut within the next year.
UPDATE: The CW’s official press release on Constantine’s appearance on Arrow provides some more info, including that he will be in the fifth episode of the season, called “Haunted”.
Yes! At the Television Critics Association press tour today, it was announced that John Constantine (Matt Ryan), of NBC’s recently cancelled Constantine, will be paying a visit to Arrow’s (Stephen Amell) turf for one episode next season.
Variety has info out of The CW TCA panel, noting that Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim previously said that “everyone” wanted to bring Constantine into Arrow, and that the idea “comes up in the writers’ room constantly”.
Constantine fans may have been bummed that the series wasn’t picked up by any networks for a second season, but thanks to Arrow, they’ll get the chance to see their favorite supernatural detective.
Check out Matt Ryan’s twitter announcement here below.
Fans have been craving a Constantine/Arrow crossover ever since the new series was canceled this spring.
“There’s a lot of desire on everyone’s part” to bring the character into the shared DC TV universe he created with Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti.
Now it seems that the character has escaped TV purgatory and will live to hunt demons on The CW.
I am super excited, and I’m sure I have lots of company.
Also joining “Arrow” in season four are Echo Kellum as Curtis Holt (aka the heroic Mr. Terrific), Neal McDonough as villain Damien Darhk, Jeri Ryan as Jessica Danforth, Casper Crump as immortal villain Vandal Savage, and Falk Hentschel as Carter Hall/Hawkman.
Ryan is repped by Gersh, Julian Belfrage Associates and Jackoway Tyreman.
“Arrow” premieres on October 7, and if you want to faint with excitement, just take a look at the video from Ryan below.
