‘Arrow’ Season 5 Cast: Diggle Replaced By Human Target, Oliver’s New Bodyguard

Traval is already known to superhero fans as NYPD police officer Will Simpson on Marvel’s “Jessica Jones” starring Krysten Ritter as the titular hard-drinking, hot mess of a resourceful private investigator.

The “Jessica Jones” actor has joined the series as Huma Target, who has been described by TVLine as “an imposing gangster looking to unite the various criminal enterprises in Star City under his own singular command”. There was a 1990 pilot based on the character, starring Rick Springfield, and a later series aired in 1992 for just seven episodes. Like Robert McCall/the Equalizer, Christopher Chance is a former assassin/covert operative seeking to right the wrongs of his past by setting up a crusade to help protect people in danger as the Human Target. The series also featured Jackie Earle Haley, who had played Rorschach in Watchmen, appearing in his second DC Entertainment property.

This is not the first time Human Target has been on TV.

Wil Traval plays well-renowned DC Comics character Christopher Chance, a.k.a. He will appear in episode five of the season, becoming the bodyguard for Mayor Oliver Queen.

The Human Target first appeared in issue #419 of Action Comics way back in 1972 and was created by Len Wein (co-creator of Swamp Thing and Wolverine) and Carmine Infantino (designer of the Barry Allen Flash).
