Arsenal and Liverpool 31-goal striker target agrees MAJOR deal amid £40m
Lyon look set to tie Arsenal and Liverpool target Alexandre Lacazette down to a new long-term contract, according to talkSPORT.
Lacazette tore apart defences in Ligue 1 last term, becoming the top scorer in the French top flight and taking home the Best Player award in the process as he drove Lyon to a finish of second in the table.
There had previously been suggestions that the French outfit would be willing to cash in on the centre-forward this summer, yet at 24-years-old his price-tag is only likely to increase, and there is therefore perhaps no rush for the club to consider selling.
“People can stop talking [about me]”, Lacazette said.
“Now I hope we will talk about me only because I am scoring goals and winning games with Lyon”.
“Everybody is really happy that Rafael is here”.
A host of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Arsenal, had been tipped to bring the France worldwide to England, and the hierarchy of the club have expressed their happiness at his decision to extend his stay at Stade de Gerland.
“I knew that I was going to stay here”.
Lyon, whose league campaign begins against Lorient on Sunday, finished as runners-up to Paris St Germain last season.
