Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: ‘Lucas Perez deserves to play’
Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola has had it up to here with all the bashing of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
The Nigeria worldwide started the club’s 2-0 win over non-league Sutton on Monday night and did manage an assist as he flicked the ball into the path of Theo Walcott, who scored his 100th goal for the north London club.
Perez’s lack of playing time has led to reported interest from AC Milan and the strikers agent, Rodrigo Fernandez Llovelle, has now opened the door to a move to the San Siro.
His selection in the team wasn’t guaranteed either, due to a minor hamstring injury, which meant he didn’t travel to Bayern Munich for the 5-1 Champions League defeat last Wednesday.
“I think what is important is that the club makes the right decision for the future”.
“When I lose games, of course it’s hard to take”.
The Spaniard hasn’t always been first choice this season, but he’s managed to step up and deliver when given the chance with tallies of eight goals and six assists in 19 appearances in all competitions.
Therefore, you can merely look towards his goals per minute ratio – and at one goal every 133 minutes, it simply doesn’t compare to Giroud’s feat of a goal every 92 this season.
The Frenchman is reportedly thinking over whether to extend his current contract beyond the end of the season.
“But I am a positive person”.
Squawka did exactly that and, perhaps surprisingly, only four fans said the Gunners should stick with Wenger- with the clubs in question being Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth.
“I’ve always seen the future in a positive way. I’m determined to always fight back”.
“I hate saying things like that because I have complete admiration for Wenger”.
