Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger proud of salvaged point
Manchester United’s Juan Mata, left, leads celebrations after scoring against Arsenal during the English Premier League soccer match between Manchester United and Arsenal at Old Trafford in Manchester, England, Saturday, Nov. 19, .
On Tuesday, the 27-year-old liked a post from the stats site Squawka detailing his impressive numbers in the Bundesliga last season.
Though he was disappointed with his side’s showing in the encounter, Wenger is relieved they did not lose the game.
Mourinho added: “We all know inside, internally, that in this moment that we are the unlucky team in the Premier League”.
Mourinho cut a dejected figure at the final whistle as this result means he has now faced Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in the league this season and not recorded a win.
Certainly, Mkhitaryan hasn’t achieved to the levels that we know he can.
“The rest I think it was a bit scrappy game, with two teams who were very well organised to defend well”. We were the best team by far.
Manchester United were clearly the dominant force in the match and deserved all three points but unfortunately, Giroud’s late header restricted them to a draw. We are in a very hard Premier League.
“They’ll be going back down south really happy with themselves because they dug out a result and that always gives you a good feeling but they didn’t put a marker down for me”.
“I thought we defended well, created chances and it was just one of those things”.
Referee Andre Marriner waved United’s appeals away and although he made his anger clear on the touchline, Mourinho refused to criticise the official after the game. [Phil] Jones and [Marcos] Rojo did not go to the national team, they stayed and we worked in the past two weeks.
“He has been great for us since he has come in, he shows a lot of confidence in all of the players which is great”. We were not sharp or fluent enough.
