Arsenal midfielder Ramsey welcomes Barcelona interest
Aaron Ramsey has welcomed reports linking him with a move to Barcelona, as even though the midfielder is happy at Arsenal, he would like to have a future experience in La Liga.
There are growing rumours that the Catalan club are ready to “swoop”, “pounce” and do other animalistic things to the Arsenal man as soon as their transfer ban comes to an end in January 2016.
“Obviously it’s very flattering”, Ramsey said.
‘They did the treble last year and it’s really nice to be linked with one of the best clubs in the world.
The 24-year-old midfielder has stressed that his immediate future is with Arsenal, with whom he has a contract until 2019, but an admission that he would eventually like to follow Gareth Bale to La Liga will be noted with interest both in Catalonia and north London.
Back in May it was reported Barcelona side were sounding out a £50million bid for the former Cardiff City youngster and Ramsey admits he just wants to strive to become the best. In order to do that, Arsene Wenger must invest in new players to star alongside Ramsey.
The club’s a lot more settled now and I really believe now that this group of players, this squad, is capable – if we can keep the consistency throughout the season – of challenging for the Premier League and other trophies. I feel there’s a responsibility there to perform, to lead the team by driving forward and winning the ball back.
‘That’s why I don’t particularly like going on the right because I’m not involved as much.
