Arsenal visit Tottenham in mouth-watering League Cup draw
The north London derby is the standout fixture to come out of Tuesday night’s third round draw. The biggest clash in this round will be Tottenham Hotspur playing arch-rivals Arsenal. Arsenal won after extra time in the third round in 2010.
United’s most recent encounter with Ipswich was in 2002.
Ipswich Town will face Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United.
Chelsea face a trip to League One side Walsall, and Liverpool will host Carlisle United of League Two. Last year, they were defeated 4-0 by MK Dons in the Second Round.
Aston Villa host Notts County, Newcastle are at home to Northampton Town, Sunderland entertain Exeter City, Swansea host York City while Bournemouth travel to Hartlepool United.
Leicester, who suffered a shock second round exit last season, are one of a further six top-tier sides in action as they face League One’s Bury. Sunderland, on the other hand, are 19th with just one point and are above West Brom only on goals scored with both teams tied on goal difference.
The game at Old Trafford will be played week beginning September 21.
