Arsene Wenger Interested In Leicester City Winger?
According to reports in the Sunday papers, Wenger will target Leciester City’s Riyad Mahrez to bolster his attacking options.
Last season, he appeared in 30 league matches but it is his form this campaign which is making all the headlines – he has scored four goals in four matches and has picked up three Man of the Match awards.
Arsenal are now thought to be keeping tabs on the midfielder and could launch a bid before the window shuts on Tuesday.
Mahrez, 24, is emerging as a player to join the Arsenal chief’s long-term wish list.
Mahrez has been linked with a £5m switch to either Roma or Villarreal but could be tempted to stay in the Premier League and try his luck with one of the bigger teams.
Boss Wenger has admitted is willing to strengthen every part of his Arsenal squad before deadline day, report the Express.
The Gunners will also make a last-ditch attempt to sign Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, according to Spanish website Fichajes, after efforts to sign Karim Benzema from Real Madrid failed. “We won’t sell him so it’s much better if they (other clubs) don’t ask”, the Italian coach is quoted as saying on Sky Sports.
“We are open and we are in the transfer market”, he said after Arsenal’s 1-0 win at Newcastle on Saturday.
Gunners linked with exciting move for Prem star.
“If you get an opportunity like that you do it”.
