Arsene Wenger Sure Arsenal Have Chance of Beating Barcelona
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has hinted that the Gunners could be forced to shop from the transfer market in January to fortify themselves, ahead of their Champions League tie against Barcelona.
The prof proudly stated, “We are playing against a team that have the trophy and are the best team in Europe but I think we have a good chance to go through”.
And Wenger believes their spectacular run is good for world football.
“We have to be inspired by the result we made against Bayern at home. It will be hard but very exciting as well”.
Barca beat the Gunners in the 2006 Final and also knocked them out of the competition in 2010 and 2011.
‘We are more mature [now]. We played against Barcelona with top teams, but very inexperienced and very young.
“It looks to be very tight”, he said.
Drawing final season’s champions represented the worst potential end result for Arsenal as they appear to keep away from a sixth successive last-16 exit in Europe’s premier membership competitors.
The Gunners welcome league favourites Manchester City to the Emirates on Monday December 21, a match in which the Gunners’ Boss claimed will not be the title decider.
“What you look at is of course to nullify the individual quality they have offensively, that will be vital for us to find a good balance between defending well as a team and expressing our way to go forward”. But some of them are so keen to forget that they are hurt that they say “I am alright” when they are not. We have shown again recently that we have a fantastic mentality in the team, and these players are something special on the human front’.
‘It’s a compliment. You want everyone to want to play.
