‘Arts and Craftsy’ Tony Romo appears in DirecTV ad
DirecTV took that same idea and applied it to Romo to give us “Arts and Craftsy” Tony Romo. If New York fails to reach the postseason for a fourth consecutive season, it could mean a new quarterback starting to learn the ropes behind him.
Romo signed a deal with the company a few months back and said he was excited to be part of one of the company’s commercials, joining Peyton and Eli Manning to promote the NFL SUNDAY TICKET package.
Manning joins in on the success of DirecTV’s commercial series featuring a famous person and an alternative reality timeline of that same person, and he adds in his own twist. Or, at least a couple of above average quarterbacks who look amusing in character.
Romo, who also made a cameo appearance in the new Universal Pictures film Trainwreck, picks up the ad campaign where Rob Lowe left off earlier this year, by playing two different versions of himself.
In the latest TV spot for DirecTV, the 34-year-old displayed his alter ego “Bad Comedian Eli Manning”, cracking unfunny jokes from the get-go.
