Arun Jaitley To File Defamation Case Against Arvind Kejriwal
“Enough is enough”, said Arun Jaitley while speaking with ET about his decision to file civil and criminal defamation suits against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, and other Aam Aadmi Party leaders for levelling charges against him in connection with the controversy about DDCA’s finances.
Besides Kejriwal, cases will be filed against Kumar Vishwas, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha, Deepak Bajpayee, AAP leaders, Jaitley said.
“The Chief Minister has written to Gopal Subramanium today and it is just a matter of time before the probe officially goes underway”, a government spokesperson said.
As the political slugfest over DDCA affairs intensified between AAP and Arun Jaitley, the party on Sunday night time hit again on the Finance Minister saying it should file an FIR against him on Monday.
Jaitley, who headed the DDCA for years, has denied the accusations against him, and called Azad “a Trojan Horse”.
“Kejriwal ji is trying to hide his failure and his corruption cases and putting false allegations on Arun Jaitley”.
The former cricketer alleged that the DDCA had given contracts to fake companies, paying them crores of rupees in cash and had fudged auditing.
As soon as the House met for the day, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said she had disallowed notices of adjournment motion moved by various opposition members including those from Congress and the Left parties on a variety of issues.
Kejriwal had alleged that the CBI raid was conducted to take possession of the DDCA files which were kept in his office. “Let me start out by saying I’m a big fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his campaign against corruption”, he said at a media briefing at the Press Club of India here. “In any case, all the full facts would be revealed in the enquiry I have suggested, and if Jaitley is cleared in such an enquiry he would emerge with flying colours, and can be reappointed as a Minister”, said Justice Katju.
The fracas over Jaitley started last week after federal investigators raided Kejriwal’s office while investigating one of the top bureaucrats in the Delhi government.
Gambhir said things have gone from bad to worse in the DDCA ever since Jaitley stepped down as president.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday rubbished allegations by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley of her involvement in “targeting” the latter in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) row.
