Arvind Kejriwal to attend Nitish Kumar’s swearing-in ceremony
Having steered Bihar on the path of development for a decade now, Nitish Kumar has his task cut out as he begins his third innings as Chief Minister of the backward state while leading a coalition of his JD(U), Lalu Prasad’s RJD and Congress. “A demand for help on social media campaign was received by us from the JD(U)”.
A number of AAP leaders were known to be uncomfortable supporting the grand secular alliance led by Kumar because of presence of Lalu Prasad who has been convicted in a fodder scam case. Advani is also said to have a soft corner for Nitish Kumar.
It is not yet clear whether Sonia or Rahul will attend the oath-taking ceremony as party managers’ only refrain is that Congress leaders will attend the event.
While Siddaramaiah has accepted the invite, it is not certain he will attend the ceremony as the state legislature is in session.
In the recently held elections to the 243-seat Bihar Assembly, the grand alliance won 178 seats, including RJD – 80, Janata Dal (United) 71 and Congress 27.
Indian drivers pass a billboard displaying the image of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of a campaign for the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in Patna. Taking a cue from Arvind Kejriwal, who shunned Delhi’s Raj Bhawan, to take oath in front of the crowds at Delhi Ram Lila Maidan, Nitish’s swearing-in will also unfurl at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.
JD President Sharad yadav, KC Tyagi( General secretery), Basistha Narayan Singh were present at the meeting.
This has sent the message across to voters that the BJP does not have a face in Bihar.
Congress had contested the 2005 Assembly polls in the then undivided Bihar alone and won 23 seats out of 324 it had contested. The first of five phases of voting in the state assembly elections in Bihar, one of India’s largest and poorest states, begins on October 12.
According to the sources many people will be coming in the oath ceremony of Bihar from the state as well as from neighbouring states also.
