Aston Villa close to completing £10m deal for Nantes midfielder Jordan
Liverpool are reportedly looking to continue their summer spending spree, which has already eclipsed £75m even before considering compensation owed to Burnley for Danny Ings, with a possible swoop for highly rated Nantes midfielder Jordan Veretout.
A box-to-box midfielder that can fulfil a number of roles, Veretout shone for FC Nantes last season, and has been tipped to break into the France squad for Euro 2016. No other player scored or created as many as Veretout so Villa are closing in on a supreme young talent that could add a whole new dimension to their side.
Aston Villa have clearly endured a hard summer after losing key players such as Christian Benteke, Fabian Delph, Ron Vlaar and Shay Given among others.
“We are basically agreed on everything”, Kita told L’Equipe, who claim Villa are now the frontrunners for Veretout’s signing. Angel Di Maria of Manchester United created 51 chances for the Red Devils and topped that particular chart at Old Trafford, but he falls well behind the 22-year-old.
The President refused at the time to reveal which club it was.
Liverpool have expressed an interest in bringing Jordan Veretout to Anfield following a breakdown in talks between the Nantes midfielder and Tottenham Hotspur, according to reports.
