Aston Villa Transfer News: Barcelona Winger Set For £8.5m Move

The winger is not yet at the Barclays Premier League club to put the finishing touches to the deal but could be a Villa player by the time they face Manchester United on Friday.

The player has been linked to Liverpool and Stoke City in recent months, but the 19-year-old is now closing in on signing a contract that will see him featuring in the Premier League.

A week ago, reports began to circulate that Aston Villa were requesting permission from Barcelona to speak with the 19-year-old winger about a possible €10 million move to Villa Park, with the Catalans retaining a buy-back option on the promising youth product.

A speedy attacker who can play out wide or as a striker, Traore is tipped for a bright future in the game.

Aston Villa have reportedly won the race to sign Barcelona youngster Adama Traore, who was also wanted by Liverpool and Stoke City, according to the Metro.

Now that Villa are without Benteke up front Tim Sherwood will need all of his players to chip in and the addition of a pacey winger such as Traoré could add to his side’s creativity.

Sherwood remains interested in Tottenham Hotspur pair Andros Townsend and Emmanuel Adebayor but has experienced frustration in advancing both deals.
