Asus Adds Two Low Cost 2-in-1 Devices to Transformer Book Line
In 2015, the decision you make when buying a laptop usually has less to do with the specs, and more to do with the form factor. The Taiwanese computer manufacturer has launched a new convertible device called the Transformer Book T100HA, which runs Windows 10 out of the box.
Transformer Book Flip FP200SA can turn its head by 360 degrees but it won’t detach. “Those internals sit behind a 10.1”, 1280×800 IPS display in the tablet portion of the device, which attaches magnetically to the keyboard dock. In terms of the specifications, the Book T100HA comes equipped with a rather moderate hardware modules. It’s a little bigger at 11.6 inches and sports a 1366×768 resolution.
The Transformer Book T100HA features Intel’s Atom x5-Z8500 processor. For memory, users have an option to choose between 2GB and 4GB, whereas for storage they can choose between 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB.
Asus is famous for putting out handsome , well-built devices that do not break the bank (think of the recent Zenbook UX305) and these two devices look set to continue that reputation and be noteworthy additions to the growing array of Windows 10 devices.
The new tablet has a 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display, 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, a micro HDMI port, microSD card reader, headset jack, and USB Type C 3.1 port (although the tablet uses a micro USB port for charging). What’s more, the eight hours of battery life Asus has promised on this lightweight 2.65 pound hybrid seems to be holding some water for now. There’s also a choice of four colours; grey, aqua blue, white and red (pictured above).
Other specs of the T100HA model include 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of eMMC expandable storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera.
Both the Transformer Book T100HA and TP200SA will be available later in September with price tags of $299 and $349 respectively. The T100HA tablet with a detachable notebook comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. This Flip device has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and packs a quad-core Intel Celeron Braswell processor under the hood. Alternatively, there is also an option for 128GB SSD drive.
