At 1-3, Longhorns promise ‘our time is coming’
In a business of production, both of those examples are considered abysmal to the Longhorn faithful.
Countless fans believe that officiating crew had an agenda against Texas, but that is pure speculation.
“And that’s it. I haven’t finalized the schedule for the rest of the year”, he said.
For two straight games now, the Texas Longhorns have managed to grab defeat from the jaws of victory.
For a brief instant on Saturday, it appeared that moment had arrived for Texas coach Charlie Strong and his Longhorns. BUT his time is running out. It is, in a sense, unfair that Texas is asking him to play quarterback at all-starting under center in a power conference is not a fair ask for any redshirt freshman; Jameis Winston and Johnny Manziel are anomalies, not a few new baseline for strong-armed 19-year-olds.
Texas is in dire need of an offense. If it weren’t for the defense, the Bears wouldn’t have beaten Texas.
The matter of fact is that they haven’t had a quarterback since Colt McCoy. Looking at this game today it is hard to see the Texas defense stopping Baylor’s offense. And of course, the botched punt at the end of the game that led to Oklahoma State‘s game-winning field goal. Charlie Strong has a mainly Sophomore-led defensive unit ranked relatively high in the country. Strong’s over-the-top verbiage tacked 15 more critically important yards onto the call. He’s mentoring his long-time friend, Vance Bedford to be the same – which I respect. Texas may struggle to get to four wins this year at this rate.
Charlie needs to bring the Air Raid to Austin.
“I’ve been working on that [Texas game] all day”. And that’s the way football should be played. UT is unranked and was recently named the victor of college football’s “Amazing Way To Lose a Game” award for the second consecutive week.
TCU and Oklahoma look formidable, I will admit.
But, the College football landscape has changed – and the uptempo offense is the go-to system. It has always been a league where passing is essential to beat the defense down the field. “I’ve seen the whole tape”, Anderson told the Austin American-Statesman. But the most important part is that they are putting up points. After suffering a drubbing in South Bend and picking up an expected win over Rice, Longhorns special teams have cost them back-to-back games against Cal and Oklahoma State. He performed well and ended up leading the Longhorns to victory.
West Virginia won in decisive fashion against Maryland, 45-6, a week ago and this team has game-planned well for the Sooners since joining the Big-12. while they have lost all three tests against OU they were in the game till the game ending gun. Let’s just hope that Texas can manage a.500 year.
