At least 6 stabbed outside California Capitol
A permitted rally at the Capitol was canceled Sunday afternoon after violent clashes between demonstrators and counter-protesters.
He said the brawl broke out around noon when a group of “right-wing extremists” held a planned rally near the state capitol.
Sacramento Fire Department spokesman Chris Harvey said emergency crews transported six people who were stabbed, some critically wounded, and that many other people had cuts, scrapes and bruises. Several protesters could be seen kicking a KKK member. Five people were stabbed and required medical attention.
The Sacramento Fire Department tweeted that at least five patients have been transported to the hospital with stab wounds so far.
Sacramento police officer Matt McPhail told CBS News none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

The victims were all present while a protest took place, but McPhail said it was still unclear whether and how they were involved.
George Granada, of the Capitol Protection Service division of the California Highway Patrol, told CNN the Traditionalist Workers Party had a permit to hold the rally.
The long-planned rally includes “members of the Traditionalist Workers Party, Golden State Skinheads, Blood & Honor, National Socialist Movement and Ku Klux Klan”, according to The Bay Area Independent.
