At least eight Israeli soldiers wounded in West Bank auto attacks
Without providing details, Channel Two said Israeli intelligence saw a “clear operational link” between the attack in the French capital, Thursday’s Beirut suicide bombings and the October 31 downing of a Russian airliner in the Egyptian Sinai.
Later in the day, six soldiers were wounded when a auto plowed into them near the Beit Ummar refugee camp in the southern West Bank.
Yehya Taha, 21, was shot in the head and later died, according to Palestinian Health Ministry spokesman Mohammed Awawdeh. Police spokeswoman Luba Samri said the man got out of a taxi near a military post and began running toward officers, brandishing a knife.
Hebron is the largest Palestinian city in the West Bank and a frequent flashpoint for violence.
Another 33 Palestinians were injured by gunfire at four different points along the Gaza border, according to paramedics.
