At least the vehicle thieves were helpful
An 8-year-old had a very unusual trip to school Wednesday morning. The Pilot reports she usually let her son stay in the auto in the post office parking lot and listen to music before driving him to school.
Police in Norfolk, Virginia, are looking for two auto thieves who understand the importance of a good education. She had to be at work before he had to go to school, police said.
While the mother of the boy was no doubt frightened beyond belief and we’re therefore sympathetic, she could maybe learn a thing or two about responsibility from these two vehicle thieves, should police ever find them.
Police found the boy sitting in class at Ghent Elementary School, completely unharmed. They dropped him off at Ghent Elementary School and drove away, the boy later told officers.
When asked if he was scared, the boy said, “Yeah, a little”, Hudson said.
The auto was located abandoned about 3 miles from the school.
“The investigators are still trying to determine if there was any type of danger to the child while the keys were inside the vehicle, running”, he said.
Officers have not found the two men at this time. They’re described as skinny black men, in their late teens to early twenties. They say one man was wearing a hoodie and the other man was wearing a coat.
The investigation is continuing.
